This is a picture I’ve had in my archive of soon to be paintings for a while. There’s no name for it, the image title is referring to its position and its nicely polished quality.

I know it’s a newer model of trailer because of the type of lettering above the rear window for A I R S T R E A M.

I love that the propane tanks are as reflective as the trailer.

Another great affect, which doesn’t always happen with these pictures, is how the pavement in the foreground is catching light from the trailer, which is then reflected in the trailer. That kind of back and forth gets my artist statement writing gears turning.

There’s a secret painting underneath, if anyone ever bothered to xray in the future!

Wood Panel made by artist, Baltic Birch Top, Hemlock 1×1 sides, reinforced corners.
Sides are painted black with a gloss finish.
Gesso’d with high quality CHROMO primer.

This is an Airstream trailer, year 1950. The model is called the Liner. The earlier the model of Airstream it looks more and more like the Rocketeer’s helmet, the 1930s and 1940s matinee hero. I love this period of design, Art Deco combined with Post-WWII aluminum aerodynamics. This airstream has the single rear oval window.

It’s on a handmade panel with recycled wood top, Douglas Fir sides, and reinforced corners.
It sits flush with the wall. Bare wood sides.
I put a glossy finish on it, so it’s shinny and scratch resistant.

This is a small but detailed painting of a mid-20th century Airstream trailer, model Caravel. It is painted on a well made, (built by artist), wood panel, sanded and primed with high quality gesso. The wood cradle is square with reinforced corners and around 2 inches thick.
